Our Game Review System
Reviewing games is always a touchy subject. Opinions are very hard to express in some value, yet everyone is willing to try. We want our review system to be concise and honest as possible so we’ve created this format:
- The Mechanics:
This category talks about the nuts and bolts of the game. How do the controls feel? How smooth are the graphics? Is the frame rate satisfactory? What is that sound? This category can be important to enjoying a game; a polished book shelf is prettier and more enjoyable than a bunch of boards nailed together.

- The Play:
This category talks about the game play. Are the quests monotonous? Is the game challenging or frustrating? A game is not a game without this.

- The Experience:
This category encompasses how the game engages you with its story and presentation. Does it move you?
- The Value:
This category will concern replay and multi-player options. The overall staying power of the game is weighed here.
All of these categories will come together in a final analysis of whether to buy and own, buy and trade, rent, or demo. We don’t get review copies, so we are very honest in our value estimations. This is the system we will use for games and other products that fit this mold. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
- This is a game that you want to buy and hang on to, as you will revisit it often.
- This is a game well worth buying that will have you occupied for while.
- This is a game that is worth a weekend or so in playing but won’t be a lasting experience.
- This is our lowest recommendation. If we don’t like it, we can’t say you won’t, but we also can’t recommend it.
